In February of 2023, VU hosted the world’s first conference on block model teaching as academics and universities work to identify greater means to engage with students.

The block model teaching style was developed 50 years ago by Colorado College, though VU was the pioneering university in Australia to implement it starting in 2018. By offering all its courses in the VU Block Model, VU saw a marked improvement in student satisfaction, retention and passing rates. The VU Block Model gives students the chance to focus on just one subject at a time during a four-week period. This departure from the traditional semester model of teaching means that students don’t have to juggle multiple topics all at once - and universities around the world are interested in how VU does it.

That is why VU hosted the International Block Model and Intensive Learning Association (BILTA) 2023 Conference in early February 2023. Read more about the BILTA 2023 Conference in this original blog post from VU Australia.

VU is proud to bring the award-winning VU Block Model to students studying online from India to increase the accessibility of a top-ranked, Australian accredited education.
